Iran has resumed ballistic missile production, report says

Tehran has reportedly restarted the production of ballistic missiles, assembling them in underground facilities scattered across Iran, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal on Thursday. The newspaper cited US and Middle East officials, who suggested Iran had been constructing liquid-propelled and solid-propellant missiles using stored components, alongside activity at multiple underground sites, such as the Khojir missile plant in southeastern Iran.

Officials added that Iran is attempting to construct additional underground plants to evade potential strikes. The Pentagon confirmed that the goal of the Iran war, implemented during the Trump administration, was to dismantle Tehran's conventional missile capabilities. A Pentagon spokesman stated that US forces had accomplished all military objectives set for the war, describing it as a complete decimation of Iran's military.

Centcom reported intercepting thousands of Iranian drones and missiles, significantly hampering Iran's launch capabilities, and destroying up to 90% of Iran's drone, ballistic missile, and naval industrial base. In April, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had claimed that Iran's missile program was "functionally destroyed." Despite these claims, it appears Tehran has been able to rebuild some of its capabilities, as evidenced by the country's recent missile launch at a Jordanian base utilized by US troops.
