‘I’m deeply saddened’ – Kwankwaso mourns social media political commentator, Dan Shagamu

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Rabi'u Kwankwaso, expressed profound grief over the passing of social media political commentator, Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu. In a tweet from his verified X account, Kwankwaso called for a thorough investigation by the Kano State Government into the incident, vowing that if such action is not taken, his future NDC administration will conduct a comprehensive probe and ensure accountability for the perpetrators.

A former Kano State Governor, Kwankwaso also urged both state and federal governments to safeguard opposition voices, emphasizing that the Nigerian Constitution guarantees freedom of expression and that such rights must shield citizens from threats, attacks, and intimidation. Dan Shagamu was found dead at his Kano home, apparently the victim of a brutal attack.

Kwankwaso mourned the loss, expressing deep sorrow for his family, friends, and followers, while praying for his eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
