Hosts of Netflix hit Selling Sunset to open Dubai real estate office this year

The hosts of the hit Netflix reality show Selling Sunset are set to expand their presence to the Middle East with the opening of their first UAE real estate office in Dubai this year. The Oppenheimer Group, known for showcasing luxury properties in their popular show, is led by Omar Abaza, a trusted business associate of founder Jason Oppenheim. Abaza is spearheading the recruitment process to build a team of high-quality estate agents who will soon be featured in a potential Dubai-based spin-off show.

The office, located in the Bluewaters Dubai complex, boasts an impressive 6,500-square-foot space and will launch in December. The UAE operation will begin with a team of 20 brokers and a growing portfolio of luxury residential listings across Dubai. As the luxury real estate market in Dubai has cooled since regional tensions erupted in late February, the group is hopeful that the recovery in the market will coincide with the office's debut.

While the luxury segment has seen a shift in buyer preferences towards smaller units and lower price points, high-end rentals such as a 1,000-square-meter apartment on the 87th floor of the Burj Khalifa continue to fetch staggering rental prices. Despite challenges in Los Angeles, where luxury property sales have seen a decline in asking prices, the UAE remains a market with significant potential, particularly for investors with disposable income.

The Oppenheimer Group is confident that their new office in Dubai will be a key attraction for top-tier brokers, setting the stage for a successful expansion.
