Hosts of Netflix hit Selling Sunset to open Dubai real estate office this year

The reality TV show Selling Sunset, known for its portrayal of luxury real estate in California, is expanding its reach to Dubai with the opening of a first-of-its-kind office. The Oppenheimer Group, the show's creators, will run the office located in Bluewaters Dubai, a sprawling 6,500-square-foot space set to launch in December.

This expansion comes as the UAE market braces for recovery, with a team of 20 brokers and a growing portfolio of high-end residential listings in Dubai already in place. The team will be supported by a global network of clients and is expected to expand further in the coming months. However, the luxury housing market is currently cooling, with Dubai's high-end transactions slowing down due to regional conflicts.

Despite this, luxury properties continue to sell and rent, with a 1,000 square meter apartment in the Burj Khalifa recently renting for around Dh12 million ($3.2 million) per year. The UAE market is still seen as having huge potential, and brokers will also look towards Abu Dhabi for sales. The office will be a key asset in attracting the right type of brokers, and the group hopes to make the famous deal-closing bell a regular feature in the Dubai market.

Sales positions in demand are currently being filled, with over 150 applicants for broker positions.
