Cynthia E. Ofori-Dwumfuo, GCB Bank’s Chief Marketing Communications and Customer Experience Officer, explained that employees across the bank’s network are identifying critical community needs, pooling resources, and spearheading impactful projects.
Currently, approximately 95 staff groups are actively participating in SCIP. These employees are responsible for identifying suitable projects, gathering funds, and ensuring their successful implementation, with the bank providing a matching contribution to the raised funds, subject to approval. The supported initiatives span various sectors, including health, education, environmental protection, and road safety.
Examples of SCIP-funded projects include community clean-up drives, mentorship programs for schools, the construction of a borehole, and the donation of essential medical equipment to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

He highlighted that due to their close proximity to local communities, employees are ideally positioned to pinpoint challenges and determine the most effective interventions.
