Apple’s Ternus era starts with long-awaited foldable iPhone Duo

For the first time in over a decade, someone other than Tim Cook took the stage at Apple's keynote event. John Ternus, the new CEO, presented the company's major product launch from Apple's headquarters in Cupertino. Ternus emphasized that privacy is at the core of everything Apple does, stating that this is "personal intelligence that's actually personal".

Apple unveiled two new phones, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, both featuring the new A20 Pro chip, which is the company's first built on a 2-nanometre process. The phones come in four new finishes: black, light blue, glacier, and burgundy. Battery life has been improved, with the Pro model matching the Pro Max's previous battery life and the Pro Max now offering 30 hours of usage.

The price for the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 for 256GB in the US, while the Pro Max starts at $1,299. Apple also introduced a Reference Image feature in iOS 27, which attaches metadata to photos to certify they haven't been AI-generated or altered. The new Apple Watch lineup focuses on health, with the Series 12 and Ultra 4 generating AI recaps of the user's day and offering readiness readings.

The highly anticipated iPhone Duo, a foldable phone, was finally revealed, featuring the thinnest iPhone ever made, with two screens sharing the same aspect ratio. The device is built from grade 5 titanium, with a Ceramic Shield on the front and back, offering three times more scratch resistance than the previous generation. The iPhone Duo runs on the A20 Pro chip and boasts up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer display.

The phone also supports quick charging and features a variety of camera and software features that take advantage of its foldable design.
