Apple debuts its first foldable iPhone Duo - and Samsung is already trolling: ‘Reheating our leftovers’

Apple unveiled its inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, during a surprise event on September 9. Following its introduction, Samsung Mobile US swiftly retaliated with a string of mocking posts on social media. In an attempt to play it cool, the company tweeted, "Let us know when you’re done reheating our leftovers," complete with a winking emoji. Samsung also began posting comments and tweets using the hashtag #ItsTimeToSwitch.

Apple's iPhone Duo boasts the largest iPhone display ever, all while maintaining a sleek, foldable design. The phone features a titanium frame and incorporates a "48MP Dual Fusion camera system," enabling versatile shooting options from front to back. When unfolded, the iPhone Duo becomes the thinnest iPhone, while also offering the largest display to date. This innovative device stands at 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, alongside which it was introduced.

In addition to the iPhone Duo, Apple showcased its Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5. Post-event, Apple's former CEO, Tim Cook, celebrated the new products via a tweet and an accompanying promotional video. This marked John Ternus' maiden event as CEO, following his succession from Tim Cook earlier this month.

Ternus emphasized the iPhone Duo's unique design, highlighting its ability to deliver the largest display ever on an iPhone within a compact form factor that easily fits in one's pocket. He described the device as a testament to advanced engineering that remains effortless to use, unlocking new experiences for users. The iPhone Duo series launches on October 16, with pre-orders opening on the same date. The device will be available on October 23, priced at ₹2,99,900 and offered in "Star White" and "Night Sky" colors.
