Up to 600,000 visitors attended “Treasures from Egyptian Museums” exhibit in Hong Kong

The exhibition "Ancient Egypt Unveiled—Treasures from Egyptian Museums" concluded its nine-month run at Hong Kong Palace Museum, drawing over 600,000 visitors. The showcase of more than 250 artifacts from eight Egyptian museums and archaeological sites provided a comprehensive look at various aspects of ancient Egyptian civilization.

Key highlights included a massive quartzite statue of King Tutankhamun, a granite statue of King Merneptah, and a gilded mummy mask from Hurghada Museum, alongside wooden artifacts, stone statues, papyrus scrolls, gold items, and models of ancient Egyptian bread. Secretary-General Hesham al-Leithy and Head of Museums Sector Ahmed Hamida attended the press conference marking the exhibition's end and the beginning of the return procedures for the artifacts to Egypt.
