New men's nat'l football coach Moreno due in Korea on Sunday

Robert Moreno, the newly appointed interim head coach of Korea's men's national football team, is set to arrive in Korea on Sunday. The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on Wednesday that Moreno will hold a press conference and be available to the media upon his arrival at Incheon International Airport, located west of Seoul, late Sunday morning.

Moreno and his five-man backroom staff were all hired simultaneously by the KFA on September 1st, and they will oversee the next six international friendlies for the Taegeuk Warriors. The team will face Ecuador on September 24th, Uruguay on September 28th, Venezuela on October 2nd, and Uzbekistan on October 6th. The KFA is also attempting to schedule two matches during the November 9-17 FIFA window.

Moreno is scheduled to hold a press conference at Korea Football Park in Cheonan, approximately 80 kilometers south of Seoul, on Monday to reveal his first Korean squad for the four matches scheduled for September and October. Moreno assumes his role as interim head coach following Hong Myung-bo's resignation at the end of June to assume the position of head coach of the country's women's national football team, following their elimination from the FIFA World Cup group stage.

Instead of hastily appointing a full-time replacement under pressure, the KFA opted to wait until a more suitable time.
