Mumbai Weather Update: Dry Spell To Continue With Slight Possibility Of Light Rain & Gusty Winds; AQI Remains Good

Mumbai experienced overcast skies, light rain, and gusty winds on Wednesday as monsoon activity persisted across the city and its suburbs. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light to moderate rainfall and thunder showers throughout the day, with no rain alert issued for Mumbai this week. A partly cloudy sky with potential for occasional light rain in the city and suburbs was forecast.

According to the IMD, Mumbai and its suburbs would remain mostly cloudy on Wednesday, with light to moderate showers expected at various locations. While widespread heavy rainfall was unlikely, isolated areas may experience moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds. Winds were anticipated to reach 40-50 kmph, with gusts potentially hitting 50-60 kmph during intense rain spells.

The maximum temperature for the day was expected to be around 33°C, while the minimum temperature recorded in the morning was 29°C. Despite the relatively subdued rainfall activity seen in Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) in August, the same conditions are expected to continue into September. No rainfall warning has been issued for the city this week, but occasional light rain spells are likely as monsoon conditions remain active.

Commuters can expect cloudy skies and occasional showers to dominate the weather pattern. Motorists and two-wheeler riders should exercise caution during periods of stronger winds and sudden rain, especially in exposed areas. Meanwhile, Mumbai's air quality remained in the "Good" range on Wednesday morning, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 25. The AQI levels between 0 and 50 are considered "Good," while levels between 51 and 100 fall under the "Moderate" category.
