macOS Golden Gate Release Candidate Now Available

Apple has made available the release candidate version of macOS Golden Gate, following a week after the eighth beta was distributed. This final version of macOS Golden Gate will be provided to developers and beta testers before its public launch. macOS Golden Gate brings forth various design enhancements. Liquid Glass opacity has been refined to improve readability, accompanied by a slider to adjust transparency levels. Adjustments to shadowing facilitate the identification of active windows. Apps now boast consistent toolbars, edge-to-edge sidebars, and less rounded corners, while menu bars feature fewer icons.

Siri has been revamped into Siri AI, a chatbot-style assistant integrating general world knowledge, personal data, and onscreen awareness to answer queries about anything and locate information. Siri can now be found in Spotlight, accessible via Search or Ask interface, and a dedicated Siri app to chat with and review past conversations is also available.

On newer Macs, users can assign a custom voice for Siri, customizing its pace and expressiveness. Additionally, Visual Intelligence allows Siri to comprehend elements displayed on the screen, and the Write with Siri feature enables Siri to generate text or provide feedback on written work. AI photo editing tools have been integrated into the Photos app, Safari now includes AI-driven tab organization, and an option to automatically update weak passwords using AI in the Passwords app is available.
