macOS 27 Golden Gate: Here are Apple’s full release notes

Apple has revealed the full release notes for macOS 27 Golden Gate, set to be released to all users on September 14. The update introduces Siri AI, a new version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence and integrated into Spotlight. Siri AI is more personal, capable, and conversational, allowing users to search for answers across various topics directly from the system. It can access personal context from messages, mail, and photos, and perform tasks across apps simply by asking.

Visual Intelligence enables users to interact with their screens using their voice, answering questions or taking action on selected windows. This feature can be accessed via a dedicated keyboard shortcut, Command-Shift-Space. Other enhancements include intelligent photo editing tools, such as Spatial Reframing and Extend, as well as advancements in Clean Up for better distraction removal and realistic infill.

MacOS 27 also includes tab organization, Notify Me for Safari to monitor pages for changes, Describe an Extension for creating custom shortcuts using natural language, and Describe a Shortcut to automate daily tasks with simple descriptions. Liquid Glass improvements and a customizable slider enhance readability, while uniform toolbars, edge-to-edge sidebars, and more detailed app icons elevate the design.

Parental controls receive updates, allowing parents to manage content access, communication, and app usage more easily. Time Allowances and Schedules provide flexible management options tailored to a child's age and daily routines. Various performance and usability improvements across Spotlight, Mail, AirDrop Transfers, network file browsing, and many other aspects make the Mac experience even faster, more reliable, and enjoyable.
