Apple Seeds watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27 Release Candidates

Apple has released release candidate versions of watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27 to developers and public beta testers. These final versions will be shipped to the public, provided no significant bugs are discovered during the final testing phase. Both watchOS 27 and visionOS 27 integrate the advanced Siri AI, capable of engaging in multi-turn conversations and leveraging both general world knowledge and personal data to provide answers and perform tasks.

For watchOS 27, an iPhone supporting Apple Intelligence – available on the iPhone 15 Pro and later models – is necessary for Siri to function. WatchOS 27 introduces features such as a Dynamic app grid featuring Siri's app suggestions, the Liquid Glass user interface for improved readability, and the Workout Buddy, which operates independently of an iPhone.

VisionOS 27 also incorporates Siri AI, which can interpret and respond to contextual inquiries seen by the user. It features a new orb for customizable virtual representations and can transform panoramic photos into immersive 3D environments, such as the Icelandic Thórsmörk landscape complete with mountains, valleys, glaciers, and the Northern Lights.

Vision Pro users can access this technology, and web content can be navigated in a more intuitive, native manner. tvOS 27, while modest in scope compared to the other updates, offers a redesigned Podcasts app, larger text options, and a more responsive Control Center. AirPlay to an Apple TV is now swifter, with apps and animations running more smoothly. Users can also access AppleCare coverage information directly from device settings.
