Government job aspirant found dead in Pune, police cite suicide over debt

A 25-year-old man, Prathamesh Dilop Deshmukh, preparing for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) competitive examinations, was discovered dead at his rented apartment in Pune on Wednesday morning. Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that Deshmukh, originally from Dharashiv district, took his own life due to financial distress and debt.

The young man had been residing in Pune for the past two years in preparation for the competitive examinations, according to the police. A suspected suicide note recovered from the scene reveals that financial troubles and outstanding debts were the primary factors that led to Deshmukh's tragic decision. The note contains a list of individuals from whom he had borrowed money, and the police are currently investigating this list to understand the extent of Deshmukh's financial struggles.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Krushikesh Rawale stated that the police are probing the reasons behind Deshmukh's borrowing behavior. The investigators are interviewing Deshmukh's family members and other acquaintances to gather more information about the incident.
