Carrick confident Man Utd can go far in ‘magical’ Champions League

Michael Carrick is confident Manchester United can excel in the Champions League after three years away from European competition. The manager, who led United to third place in the Premier League last season, sees the Champions League as a "magical" competition that sets them apart. Carrick emphasized that United's goal is to compete with Europe's best teams and make the most of their return to the competition.

Despite their recent struggles, including being eliminated in the group stages in two of their last three appearances, Carrick believes the team is capable of performing well in the Champions League. The players, many of whom have experience in European football, are expected to bring their skills to the new challenge. However, Carrick has acknowledged that the team will need to adapt to a heavier workload, with matches scheduled on Thursday, Sunday, and Wednesday.

New signings Benjamin Sesko and Matthijs de Ligt are also expected to return to the starting lineup soon.
