Apple announces first-ever foldable iPhone, starting at $1,999

Apple unveiled its first-ever foldable iPhone, called iPhone Duo, at its annual products event. The new smartphone will fold open like a book, providing a single, 80% larger screen compared to the company's latest iPhone Pro model. When unfolded, the iPhone Duo will also be the thinnest iPhone ever. Customers can pre-order the device starting October 16 and purchase it in stores on October 23.

It comes in two colors, Star White and Night Sky. The screen will be compatible with the iPhone Pencil, currently only available for iPad users, and can be unlocked with the Apple Watch. The iPhone Duo will be available in two colors and can also be used partially folded. Apple CEO John Ternus stated that the device aims to redesign the experience of using a foldable phone, moving away from previous designs that felt awkward.
