Ab Rauf terbuka runding dengan mana-mana parti selepas DUN Melaka bubar

Ketua Menteri Melaka, Ab Rauf Yusoh, has expressed openness to discussions with any political party ahead of the PRN Melaka, following the dissolution of the Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN). Ab Rauf, who also serves as the Barisan Nasional (BN) chief for Melaka, stated that any decision regarding political cooperation would only be made in due time and circumstances.

Speaking to reporters after attending the Umno 2026 Annual General Meeting at the World Trade Centre, he emphasized that this aligns with the mandate given by Umno President and BN Chief Zahid Hamidi to engage in coordination for addressing the upcoming PRN Melaka.

However, Ab Rauf stressed that any potential cooperation should be based on the best interests of Melaka's state and its people. Last Sunday, Zahid reportedly instructed Ab Rauf to explore cooperation with any party ahead of the upcoming PRN. According to Zahid, the chosen partner should possess loyalty, dedication, and honesty, in addition to the ability to assist BN in securing victory. "I have given the mandate to have an open discussion, choose partners who are loyal, and who can provide victory to us (BN)," he said.

In the 2021 PRN Melaka, BN secured 21 out of 28 DUN seats, while Pakatan Harapan (PH) won five seats, and Perikatan Nasional (PN) claimed two seats. The DUN Melaka electoral cycle will conclude on January 31.
