SIX, the owner of BME, is making it easier for retailers to access real-time stock market data through a new platform called SIX Market Signal. This service aims to make market data more accessible and affordable for both institutional investors and individual traders. For retailers, the basic plan costs 16 Swiss francs per month, approximately 17 euros, with a free one-month trial.

Other plans are priced at 32 Swiss francs per month and 70 Swiss francs, offering unlimited queries. Retailers will be able to access live market data from 16 European exchanges through Aquis Exchange, a platform acquired by SIX in 2025. This real-time, paneuropean data stream provides a unified API, allowing various programs to communicate and trade across different exchanges.

The service promises affordable, high-quality market data that balances cost and speed, making it ideal for everyday trading scenarios. The cost varies depending on the plan chosen by the investor. Institutional investors in Switzerland can already subscribe to SIX Market Signal, with plans to expand access to retail investors in the European Union and the United Kingdom, according to the company.

The move aims to eliminate barriers to high-quality market data across capital markets, leveraging SIX's pan-European presence to provide market participants with reliable and timely price information. Santiago Ximenez, head of Data & Connectivity at SIX, emphasizes the platform's role in democratizing access to premium market data.
