Qatar Foreign Ministry warns against normalizing regional "No War, No Peace" status

The State of Qatar has cautioned against the normalization of the "no war, no peace" status in the region, highlighting how ongoing instability is straining resources and hindering economic and developmental progress in affected countries. In a weekly media briefing, Director of Media and Communications Ibrahim bin Sultan Al Hashmi explained that the repercussions of this precarious situation extend beyond the region, impacting global economic stability, supply chains, and international economic health.

Al Hashmi emphasized Qatar's diplomatic efforts to resolve the political deadlock and create conditions for dialogue between the parties involved. He also noted that Qatar is collaborating closely with regional and international partners, including China, to restart diplomatic negotiations and pursue peaceful solutions. The aim is to address the root causes of crises and ensure long-term stability in the region.

Al Hashmi stressed that achieving any successful mediation or diplomatic initiative depends on the willingness of the involved parties to engage in dialogue and adopt peaceful means to resolve conflicts. He highlighted the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a critical international waterway for global trade, energy supplies, and economic stability.

Qatar has documented the Iranian attacks on its territory, sending numerous letters to international bodies to refute Iran's claims that its strikes were limited to U.S. military facilities. Despite ongoing tensions, Qatar maintains a balanced and responsible diplomatic approach, focusing on dialogue and negotiations to de-escalate tensions and foster security and stability in the region.
