Qatar Foreign Ministry warns against normalizing regional "no war, no peace" status

Doha, Qatar - The State of Qatar has cautioned against the normalization of a "no war, no peace" status in the region, arguing that ongoing instability is straining resources and hindering economic and developmental potential. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the consequences of this status extend beyond the region, affecting global economy, supply chains, and international economic stability.

During a weekly media briefing, Director of Media and Communications Ibrahim bin Sultan Al Hashmi detailed Qatar's diplomatic and political efforts to end the political deadlock and create conditions for resuming dialogue between the involved parties. Al Hashmi emphasized Qatar's continuous coordination with regional and international partners to revive negotiation tracks and seek political solutions, citing ongoing cooperation with China during Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani's visit to Beijing.

The primary goal of these diplomatic moves is to foster a conducive environment for dialogue and long-term stability. Success in mediation efforts depends on the political will of the concerned parties, and returning to the dialogue table is the only way to avoid further tension and achieve a peaceful resolution. Regarding maritime security and economic impacts, Al Hashmi stressed the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as a top priority, given its global significance in trade, energy, and regional economies.

Qatar has sent official letters to the UN Security Council and General Assembly, documenting Iranian attacks on civilian and economic facilities, and affirming its stance based on transparency and international law. Despite the current crisis, Qatar remains committed to a balanced and responsible diplomatic approach, calling for dialogue and negotiations to ensure security and stability in the region.

The recent Israeli description of Qatar as a "hostile state" is dismissed, as Israel's claims contradict the reality of its actions in occupied Palestinian territories, and Qatar's humanitarian and mediating role is proven to be responsible and effective.
