Over RM1bil spent to address water supply issues, says Sabah CM

Chief Minister Hajiji Noor of Sabah announced that the state has spent more than RM1 billion to resolve water supply issues plaguing the region. The funds were allocated towards replacing outdated water pipes in various districts and repairing those that have been stolen. The chief minister revealed that one of the two or three significant water projects will be completed by the end of the current year, while the project in Tawau is currently 50% to 60% finished.

Besides addressing water supply concerns, Noor also emphasized the government's commitment to improving other essential facilities such as electricity and road infrastructure. He further explained that the state government adopts an open policy to attract developers and foreign investors, aiming to foster economic progress and job creation.

The chief minister encouraged private sector involvement, implementation agencies, entrepreneurs, and citizens to actively participate in Sabah's development. He reiterated that government responsibility is shared with various stakeholders for the overall advancement of the region.
