Flood-hit Nepal races to rebuild bridges, restore vital road links with India, China support

On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, engaged in a discussion with Toshimitsu Imai, CEO of Japanese conglomerate Toyota Tsusho. The meeting aimed to bolster economic and investment cooperation between Egypt and the Japanese group.

Minister Abdelatty expressed gratitude for the current collaboration between Egypt and Toyota Tsusho, highlighting the company's instrumental role in various economic domains. He emphasized his ambition to capitalize on the progress made during their meeting in Japan last June, with the goal of increasing the group's impact on renewable energy, automotive manufacturing, and assembly sectors.

The minister also conveyed Egypt's keen interest in creating a Japanese industrial zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, as well as reinforcing the presence of Japanese entities in the Egyptian market. These initiatives would enable the harnessing of the zone's competitive advantages. Moreover, Minister Abdelatty aspired to partner with Toyota Tsusho in drawing Japanese investments and disseminating technology and industrial know-how, particularly considering the company's leadership within the Egyptian-Japanese Business Council.
