The Diamondbacks, on the other hand, secured a 5-4 win over Kansas City in 10 innings, falling short of the Padres by a half-game in the race for the final NL wild card spot. Pivetta, who was previously on the 15-day injured list and later transferred to the 60-day IL, showcased his skills in his fifth start of the season and his first win since April 1.
