Mickey Gall ready to 'reintroduce myself as a man' in UFC return

Mickey Gall anticipates his return to the UFC ring after nearly two years of absence. Scheduled to compete in UFC Fight Night 289 on September 26 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Gall will face Sedriques Dumas. Gall's recent return comes after the birth of his daughter, Sainty, with his wife Kimberly Cortes Gall. Gall credits fatherhood for his growth and maturity both as a fighter and a person.

"I got an awesome daughter, an awesome wife, so I got to be an awesome dad, an awesome husband," Gall stated. "I've been that and I love that; it brings me a lot of purpose. It made me grow up so much. When I came into this, I was a kid. I’m excited to reintroduce myself as a man now; I feel and know the difference now. It’s forced me to level up myself.

Not just as a fighter, but as a man." Gall, who has a record of 7-7, joined the UFC in his sophomore professional fight in 2016. He was briefly cut from the roster after his contract ended in 2022 but returned in 2024, suffering two more losses. Dumas, his opponent, also faced a brief cut from the UFC in July following felony charges. Dumas currently has a record of 10-5 and is on a three-fight losing streak.
