Jesús Luzardo throws a 2-hit shutout, Phillies beat Braves 1-0

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — In a thrilling victory, the Philadelphia Phillies secured a 1-0 win against the Atlanta Braves, thanks to the stellar performance of rookie Jesús Luzardo. Luzardo struck out 12 batters and delivered a two-hit shutout in his first career shutout after 150 starts. Kyle Schwarber, the Phillies' designated hitter, added to the win with a solo homer in the eighth inning. The Phillies' victory reduced the division lead between them and the NL East-leading Braves to just four games.
