Kelana Jaya LRT remains packed as slow trains disrupt morning commute

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — Commuters on the Kelana Jaya LRT line faced challenging morning travel conditions as several stations became overcrowded and trains operated at a slower pace. Several public transport users shared their experiences on social media, reporting images of stations filled with passengers waiting for trains. @nibukanyon, a Threads user, warned those who had not yet left their homes to postpone their journeys, stating that the LRT has been disrupted since yesterday and it remains unresolved.

The user expressed their frustration, saying they had given up on using the LRT. Another user, @addazwan, claimed that the train they were traveling on made several abrupt stops and skipped stops at Asia Jaya and Taman Jaya stations before passengers were asked to disembark at Kerinchi station. A third user, @jazz_sidhu1, expressed their frustration with the frequent delays, noting that trains stopped for seven to eight minutes at several stations, making it impossible for passengers waiting at the stations to board.

Rapid KL responded to the situation by stating that Pasar Seni station on the Kelana Jaya Line is experiencing an increase in passenger numbers, leading to congestion. The company said that passenger control measures have been implemented at affected stations to ensure commuters' safety and smooth movement.
