Houthi attacks disrupt Saudi oil facilities and wound more than 70

The Saudi Arabian government has firmly condemned a series of Houthi attacks which targeted civilian and economic sites in the country's southern regions, resulting in the injury of 73 people, including women and children. The attacks on Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, coupled with the ongoing assault on commercial vessels in the Red Sea, have been deemed a serious threat to the Kingdom's security and stability, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

The Kingdom categorically rejects the militia's hostile actions, which undermine peace efforts and jeopardize regional stability. Saudi Arabia asserts its right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and the safety of its citizens, insisting it will not tolerate any attack on its territory or capabilities. The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, in a separate statement, described the Houthi attacks as a "dangerous escalation" and a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty, calling for the Joint Forces Command to take necessary operational measures to deter and neutralize the threat.

The Kingdom has also warned of the consequences of continued attacks on civilians and civilian facilities, urging the international community to uphold its obligations and adhere to UN Security Council resolutions, particularly 2216 (2015) and 2722 (2024).
