Hanya Serian catat IPU sangat tak sihat

Ten locations in Sarawak among 32 nationwide recorded unhealthy air quality index (AQI) readings before 7.30 a.m. today, according to data from the Environment Department's AQI management system. Serian in Sarawak reported the most unhealthy AQI reading of 210 at that time. Ten more locations in Sarawak among 32 nationwide recorded unhealthy AQI, including Kuching (188), Samarahan (187), Sri Aman (175), Sarikei (174), Miri Industrial Training Institute (173), Samalaju (171), Mukah (158), Bintulu (157), Miri (153) and Sibu (151).

Eight locations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor also recorded unhealthy AQI readings, namely Batu Muda (170), Johan Setia (165), Shah Alam (163), Cheras (161), Banting (156), Klang (155), Petaling Jaya (154) and Kuala Selangor (153). The air quality in eight locations in Perak and Johor was also categorized as unhealthy, with readings not exceeding 200, including Tasek Ipoh and Tanjung Malim (158), Seri Manjung (153), Pegoh (151), Segamat (154), Batu Pahat (152), Kluang (122) and Tangkak (119).

Six other locations recorded unhealthy AQI, including Nilai in Negeri Sembilan (158), Putrajaya (157), Bukit Rambai in Melaka and Jerantut in Pahang (154), and Alor Gajah in Melaka (152). A total of 31 locations nationwide recorded moderate AQI, while four locations had good air quality, namely Alor Setar in Kedah (44), Balik Pulau in Penang (40), Kangar in Perlis (37) and Langkawi in Kedah (20).

AQI readings of 0 to 50 indicate good air quality, 51-100 are moderate, 101-200 are unhealthy, 201-300 are very unhealthy and readings above 300 are hazardous. A state of emergency was declared in Serian last Friday.
