GES establishes help desk to address salary arrears concerns of 2024-recruited teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has created a Help Desk at its headquarters to assist teachers who were hired in 2024 and are facing issues with salary arrears and related payments. This development followed a petition submitted by the Coalition of Unpaid Teachers, an organization representing some of the newly recruited educators who have expressed concerns over their outstanding salaries and arrears.

In a statement released on Tuesday, September 8, GES Management confirmed that they had received the petition and stated that records show the salaries and arrears owed to teachers in this group have been processed. However, they pointed out that some individual cases may require additional verification and resolution, leading to the establishment of this Help Desk to ensure quick handling of these concerns.

Teachers who have unresolved issues are urged to visit the Help Desk located at GES Headquarters, Room 305, with all relevant supporting documents. According to the Service, these documents will help officials verify the teachers' records and address any legitimate outstanding issues promptly. For those who cannot visit the GES Headquarters, Management has provided alternative channels for assistance.
