GES sets up help desk to resolve outstanding salary arrears for teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has set up a Help Desk at its headquarters to address the issue of outstanding salary arrears for teachers. This development came after a petition was submitted by the Coalition of Unpaid Teachers, who represent teachers hired in 2024, concerning unpaid salaries and related issues. According to a statement from Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, dated September 8, 2026, the management has processed the salaries and arrears due to the affected teachers.

However, they acknowledged that some individual cases may require further verification and resolution.

The Help Desk was established to ensure a swift resolution of these outstanding cases and to assist the affected teachers with the necessary procedures. Teachers with unresolved concerns are directed to visit Room 305 at the GES Headquarters with relevant supporting documents, which will help management verify and address their cases.
