Arson being investigated after Molotov cocktail destroys Nova Scotia home: RCMP

RCMP are seeking public assistance in their investigation of arson and attempted arson incidents involving Molotov cocktails in Timberlea, Nova Scotia. The first incident occurred on September 5th, when a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a home in the 400 block of Marketway Lane, causing the entire structure to catch fire. Neighbouring properties also suffered minor damage.

Police, fire services, and paramedics responded to the scene, finding the home fully engulfed in flames. Two days later, on September 7th, officers received a report of a suspicious individual seen exiting the same block of Marketway Lane around 4:10 a.m. An investigation revealed that a man had been seen leaving a residence with a burning cloth, which he subsequently dropped and fled the area in a vehicle.

Additionally, a jug containing an accelerant was found in the yard. The second incident is currently being treated as an attempted arson. As part of their ongoing investigation, RCMP are requesting information regarding a small blue vehicle observed leaving the scene on the morning of September 5th. They are also looking for details that could identify a man wearing black pants and a brown jacket, who was spotted in a grey Honda Civic on September 7th.
