Arson being investigated after Molotov cocktail destroys Nova Scotia home: RCMP

RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in their investigation of arson and attempted arson incidents involving Molotov cocktails in Timberlea, Nova Scotia. The first incident occurred on September 5th when a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a home in the 400 block of Marketway Lane. Upon arrival, police found the home fully engulfed in flames, with neighboring properties sustaining minor damage.

Two days later, police were alerted to a suspicious individual seen on Marketway Lane at approximately 4:10 a.m. The investigation revealed that a man had been seen exiting a residence with a burning cloth, dropped it, and fled in a vehicle. A jug containing an accelerant was discovered in the yard. The second incident is being treated as an attempted arson.

As part of their probe, police are requesting information about a small blue vehicle seen leaving the area on the morning of the September 5th fire. They also seek details that could identify a man wearing black pants and a brown jacket who was observed in a grey Honda Civic on September 7th.
