Anwar urges younger generation to keep Tun Abdul Razak’s legacy, ideas alive in nation-building

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called upon the younger generation to not only remember Tun Abdul Razak Hussein as a historical figure, but to also reignite the flame of his struggle and ideas in the realm of nation-building. Anwar emphasized that appreciating the contributions of the country's second Prime Minister must be accompanied by a profound understanding of his ideas, thought processes, and values, so that they can serve as guiding principles in tackling contemporary challenges.

He stressed that individuals like Tun Abdul Razak should not be perceived merely as part of the historical record, as his ideas and challenges remain pertinent and valuable for present-day generations and those of the future. "This individual was no ordinary person, and his journey did not merely conclude like a simple historical tale.

That is why it is our duty to keep his struggle alive," Anwar stated during a speech at the Remembering Statesman Tun Abdul Razak: "Architect of Nation-Building" program held at the Tun Abdul Razak Memorial. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, and National Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang.
