Umno Selangor dalam keadaan sedia teroka kerjasama dengan PAS

Umno Selangor is reportedly in a state of readiness to explore cooperation with PAS, according to a leading figure within the party. Imran Tamrin, the Umno Selangor Youth Chief, stated that the presence of Pemuda Umno Selangor at a recent Pemuda PAS rally indicates the current level of their relationship. This readiness implies that Umno Selangor is open to exploring potential areas of collaboration that may arise in the future, he told FMT.

From a cooperation perspective, it is no obstacle or unusual for Umno Selangor to venture into such endeavors. Imran also commented on PAS President Hadi Awang's statement on Friday, in which Hadi expressed his desire for PAS to strengthen its cooperation with Umno to form a strong majority and prevent easy manipulation, especially in the upcoming elections.

Along with securing the state, Hadi aims for a majority that is robust and resistant to reversal. The Governorship and Barisan Nasional partnership in Negeri Sembilan since 2018 has been challenged by the Pakatan Harapan government, which collapsed that year, and now the PN-BN coalition governs with a 2/3 majority in the Dewan Undangan Negeri.

However, BN entered the PRN in Negeri Sembilan with 14 seats, compared to PN's five seats (three PAS and two Unity), unlike the situation in Selangor where BN holds only two seats while PN controls 10 seats (all PAS). Imran emphasized that any form of cooperation between Umno and PAS should be based on strength, superiority, and the roles each party can play.

In Selangor, whether or not there is a history of cooperation with PAS is already evident, he added.
