Suhum MCE, SOL Foundation support over 650 BECE graduates ahead of SHS placement

Over 650 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates in the Suhum Municipality received assistance in preparation for their transition to Senior High School (SHS). The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suhum, Lydia Sarah Ohenewaa, spearheaded the support initiative on September 4 at the Suhum Main Station. Beneficiaries were provided with trunks, mattresses and buckets to facilitate their boarding school journey.

Outstanding BECE candidates were rewarded with hampers and cash prizes. During the ceremony, the MCE encouraged the graduates, parents and community members to remain committed to their education and work diligently to attain their objectives. She also appealed to individuals, corporations and philanthropic organizations to aid students from less privileged backgrounds who face difficulties in continuing their education.

The Suhum MCE and SOL Foundation, a philanthropic organization, collaborated on this effort to support vulnerable and less privileged members of society. The event fostered a gathering of students, parents, education stakeholders and community members, celebrating academic excellence and providing support to those in need. This initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens on parents and inspire beneficiaries to pursue academic excellence.
