Shettima: Tinubu’s Massive Infrastructural Development In Line With Transporters’ Welfare, Operations

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has assured transporters that President Bola Tinubu is deeply committed to improving transport infrastructure in Nigeria, with the aim of easing their operations nationwide. Speaking at the inauguration of the National Working Committee of the National Structure of Transporters for Tinubu/Shettima 2027 in Abuja, Shettima emphasized that connectivity is an economic necessity and the administration is actively working to reduce the cost of movement.

Shettima highlighted that transport workers are unparalleled ambassadors of the nation, playing a crucial role in connecting communities and facilitating economic activities such as farming, manufacturing, trading, and education. He stressed that every kilometre saved, every bottleneck removed, and every port made more efficient contributes to national productivity.

The vice-president also expressed gratitude to the transport workers for their unwavering support in President Tinubu's re-election campaign, describing them as credible witnesses to the administration's struggles. Shettima noted that the inauguration of structures across highways, rail corridors, ports, and logistics infrastructure demonstrates the administration's dedication to ensuring the success of the present government.

He cautioned the transport workers to maintain peace during their campaign activities and urged them to reject violence, threats, intimidation, misinformation, and electoral misconduct. Shettima emphasized that elections are opportunities for citizens to express their interests and demonstrated their preferences through credible elections.
