Officials deny allegations of irregularities in sports quota selection for Mega DSC-2025

Allegations about irregularities in the selection of candidates for the Mega DSC-2025 through sports quotas have been refuted by officials. State School Education department Commissioner Tamim Ansaria and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh Vice-Chairperson S. Bharani stated that allegations were false, and each case was being investigated based on official records and verification from concerned authorities.

If fraudulent certificates or ineligible candidates are discovered, action will be taken. The officials emphasized that genuine candidates should not be unfairly targeted due to allegations. They clarified that a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is mandatory for teachers from Classes I to VIII, with qualifying marks set at 60% for Other Categories and Economically Weaker Sections (OC/EWS), 50% for Backward Classes (BC), and 40% for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and ex-servicemen candidates.

However, separate TET eligibility was not required for Physical Education Teacher, School Assistant (Physical Education), Physical Director, Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), and Principal positions. The officials confirmed that records indicated several candidates accused of irregularities had satisfied the TET requirements.

Vice-Chairperson S. Bharani mentioned that complaints regarding sports certificates were under examination, and the authenticity of certain Judo certificates issued by the A.P. State Judo Association was currently being investigated. The officials emphasized that certificates from authorized sports bodies are evaluated according to Central government guidelines.

The officials reiterated that transparency, adherence to rules, and verification of official records are the government's priorities. Appropriate action would be taken if any irregularities were substantiated.
