Saudi Arabia named guest of honor at 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade

The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia has issued a stern warning to individual employers, threatening imprisonment, a fine of up to SR100,000, and a ban on recruiting new workers for up to five years. Employers found to be allowing their employees to take jobs with other companies or work on their own can face up to six months in prison, in addition to the substantial fine.

This directive is part of the Kingdom's efforts to enforce its residency, labor, and border security regulations, which strictly limit workers from taking employment outside the arrangements under which they were legally hired. The ministry is urging both employers and employees to adhere strictly to these regulations and to report any violations to the authorities.

Reports can be made by dialing 911 in Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 elsewhere in the country.
