The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have become among the top destinations for Brazilian exports of fresh and processed chicken meat in August, according to data released by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). UAE imports rose by 35.9% to 44,200 tonnes, while Saudi Arabia saw a 29.9% increase to 35,100 tonnes compared to the same period last year.
China was the leading destination for Brazilian chicken meat exports in August, receiving 50,900 tonnes, followed by the European Union, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. Overall, Brazil exported US$997.8 million worth of chicken meat in August, a 42.7% increase from the same period last year, with export volumes reaching 492,600 tonnes, a 24.8% increase.
ABPA President Ricardo Santin highlighted the strength of international demand for Brazilian chicken meat and the diversification of export destinations as contributing factors to the growth.
