India rescuers search for trapped survivors after deadly Delhi building collapse

Rescue teams in New Delhi are sifting through debris from a five-story building that collapsed earlier this week, resulting in at least six fatalities. Officials remain concerned that additional individuals may be trapped within the rubble. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) reported receiving ten patients from the disaster; five of these victims arrived dead, and one critically injured patient subsequently passed away at the trauma center.

AIIMS attributed the majority of the casualties to the collapse of the Satya Niketan building, a structure that housed numerous university students residing in cramped conditions. Emergency personnel, comprising disaster agencies, fire services, and law enforcement, are employing heavy machinery and specially trained sniffer dogs to scour the site for any remaining trapped survivors.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the distressing incident, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
