Woman killed in Bang Na-Trat Road motorcycle crash

A 50-year-old woman motorcyclist, Nittaya, lost her life in a tragic accident on Bang Na-Trat Road in Samut Prakan on September 4. The incident occurred around 4 pm on the outbound parallel lane at km.10, near Tambon Bang Phli Yai in Bang Phli district. Nittaya's motorcycle collided with the rear of an 18-wheel trailer truck that had been parked on the roadside. She died at the scene.

Nittaya's husband revealed that she typically drove a motorcycle taxi near km.6 on the same road. Additionally, she had taken up food-delivery gigs as extra income. According to her husband, Nittaya was delivering an order to a customer when the accident took place.

Witnesses reported that Nittaya's motorcycle swerved to avoid the parked trailer truck but was unable to clear it in time, leading to the fatal crash. The truck driver, Supakit Sam-ang Song, 45, had parked the vehicle on the roadside and left to eat noodles for about 30 minutes before returning to find the accident had already occurred.

Surachai, Nittaya's husband, arrived at the scene and nearly fainted upon seeing his wife's body. Bang Kaeo police invited the truck driver for further questioning as part of standard procedure. Officers are currently investigating witness accounts and reviewing CCTV footage. The body was handed over to Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers, who took it to the forensic unit of Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute for an autopsy.
