The president is unwell, suffering from an extreme level of stress and exhaustion. This strain comes from the overwhelming number and intensity of decisions the president must make daily, coupled with irregular sleep patterns, constant vigilance, and harsh criticism. The psychological pressure is so great that it can lead to severe isolation, impacting not only the president but also their family.

Harvard research shows that elected leaders who serve and win tend to have a higher risk of premature death compared to their defeated counterparts, with an estimated 23% increased risk and a 2.7-year reduction in average lifespan. This "presidential disease" may explain why leaders like Park Geun-hye, with her long-term silence, and Park Chung-hee, who suffered from frequent heart attacks, experienced health issues.

The mental strain can also impact political decisions, as seen in President Franklin D. Roosevelt's strategic decisions during WWII and Richard Nixon's decision to bomb Cambodia, influenced by his psychological distress. The need for adequate rest and recovery is not just a right but a necessity for the president. While there are competent medical professionals to support the president, the issue goes beyond individual healthcare.

The president should focus on top-level decisions, delegating other responsibilities to reduce stress and make better choices. Finally, having a "court jester" or counselor figure, as seen in ancient civilizations, could help alleviate the president's stress and provide much-needed support.
