Sacramento State beats Mississippi Valley State 52-0 for Alonzo Carter’s first win as head coach

Quarterback Jackson Sharman's performance was instrumental, connecting with wide receiver Matt Coleman thrice for a combined 141 yards and three touchdowns, including a 63-yard scoring strike.

Coleman also contributed significantly with three catches for 141 yards, including two crucial scores. The game was punctuated by a halftime halftime score of 31-0, thanks to Sharman's precision, which saw him complete 18 out of 28 passes for 247 yards. Mississippi Valley State struggled offensively, managing a mere 147 total yards, with quarterback Jaylen Patterson's 43-yard touchdown run being the lone bright spot.

Sacramento State, now an FBS member, will face Fresno State next Saturday, while Mississippi Valley State will host Division II Lincoln on Saturday.
