Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index unchanged

At the close of trade on Sunday, Russia's stocks saw a decline in value, with the MOEX Russia Index remaining unchanged at 0.00%. Rosneft PJSC led the gainers, rising 3.01% or 9.70 points to close at 331.65. On the downside, TATNEFT and Surgutneftegas both experienced losses, with TATNEFT falling 0.05% to 571.80 and Surgutneftegas down 0.25% to 41.41.

AFK Sistema, United Company Rusal, and Aeroflot were among the other stocks that closed lower. The Moscow Stock Exchange saw more falling stocks than advancing ones, with 165 stocks declining compared to 70 that rose, and 17 ending unchanged. The Russian Volatility Index, which tracks the options implied volatility of the MOEX Russia Index, remained steady at 37.83.

Gold futures for December delivery saw a 1.38% drop to $4,477.20 per troy ounce, while crude oil for October delivery slipped 0.09% to $91.22 per barrel. Brent oil for November rose slightly by 0.35% to $95.85 per barrel. The USD/RUB and EUR/RUB exchange rates fell by 0.51% and 1.05% respectively, with the US Dollar Index Futures up by 0.25% at 99.13.
