Reforms are working – Akpabio champions Tinubu 2027 re-election

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, is advocating for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027 by emphasizing the importance of economic reforms and policy continuity. Akpabio made this appeal on Saturday while meeting with a delegation from the Northern Ethnic Groups Assembly in Abuja. He highlighted that while the reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and foreign exchange stabilization, have caused initial difficulties, they are necessary for redirecting government resources to critical sectors like healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

These measures have started to produce tangible benefits, including improved revenue collection and increased investor confidence. Akpabio stressed the need for Northern youths to actively participate in governance and urged them to become critical consumers of information and engage in constructive dialogue. The Northern Ethnic Groups Assembly praised Akpabio for his efforts to bridge political gaps between the North and South, emphasizing the importance of national unity over regional interests.

The coalition pledged to mobilize grassroots efforts to educate the public about the long-term benefits of the government's economic policies and maintain transparent consultation with Northern youth organizations.
