Quinn Henicle throws for 2 TDs, runs for 2 and Old Dominion subdues Norfolk State 31-10

Sophomore quarterback Quinn Henicle delivered a stellar performance for Old Dominion in their 31-10 win over Norfolk State on Saturday. Playing in his first regular-season start, Henicle completed nine of twelve passes for 137 yards while also accumulating 68 yards rushing. The Old Dominion sophomore added two rushing touchdowns and two scoring passes, propelling the Monarchs (1-0) to a commanding 17-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Henicle continued his impressive display with a 14-yard passing touchdown to teammate TJ Johnson, followed by a 2-yard rushing score. The Old Dominion defense restricted Norfolk State to just 220 total yards, forcing three turnovers, recording three sacks, and accumulating 11 tackles for loss. Junior running back Jalyn Daniels contributed 84 yards on the ground for the Spartans (1-1), while Deljay Bailey completed 94 yards through the air. Norfolk State managed to score via a 3-yard run by Daniels in the final minute of the first half.

Old Dominion wore special camouflage jerseys in remembrance of Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Shah, who was tragically killed on campus on March 12. The Monarchs have a strong 5-0 record against Norfolk State, both teams being located in Norfolk. Old Dominion will next face Virginia Tech on Saturday.
