William & Mary defense, Andrew King’s 2 TDs lead Tribe over Delaware State 22-15

William & Mary's defense and quarterback Winston Watkins' two touchdown passes propelled the Tribe to a 22-15 victory over Delaware State in a Saturday matchup. Andrew King contributed significantly to the win with two rushing touchdowns and a combined 73 yards on 15 carries, as the Tribe (2-0) established a commanding 16-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Tribe, currently ranked No. 17 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll, showcased their defensive prowess by intercepting three passes and recovering three fumbles from Delaware State. Max Lipinski's three field goals - 25, 32, and 51 yards - extended William & Mary's lead to 22-0 with 12:20 left in the game.

Delaware State (1-1) managed to score twice in the final quarter, with running back Noah Brannock rushing for an 11-yard touchdown and a 2-yard score, cutting the deficit to 22-15. Brannock also contributed 45 yards on the ground and 54 yards through the air. Jayden Jenkins led the Hornets with 57 yards rushing and 40 yards receiving, while Winston Watkins completed 95 yards for William & Mary, and Khylil Johnson added 83 receiving yards on four catches.
