On September 5, Taylor Swift joined an “iHeartCountry House Party” for an interview on BOB 94.9 FM out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. During the segment, Swift discussed her contribution to Toy Story 5’s soundtrack, praising its “sonic world” created by Randy Newman. She then revealed her intention when writing “I Knew It, I Knew You”: to give lyrics double meanings.

Swift cited lyrics such as “I knew you through the daze of the blades of the grass in summer/ Parachutes for the free fall of being younger.” She explained that “daze” could be interpreted as “days,” hinting at childhood memories. “Blades of the grass in summer” refers to both childhood innocence and the toy-like nature of blades of grass, she added.

Swift concluded that the double meanings of the song’s lyrics are a talking point for fans.
