General : Seven UiTM Students Still Hospitalised, All Outdoor KKEC 2026 Activities Cancelled

Shah Alam, September 6 — Seven Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) students are still receiving medical treatment and being monitored after a heat-related incident during an endurance event in Pahang on Friday. UiTM Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin disclosed that the university is closely monitoring the health and well-being of the affected students, who are being treated at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (HOSHAS) in Temerloh and Jengka Hospital.

Liya Zafirah Muhammad from Perak and Meor Aqil Wildan from Perlis are currently in the ICU and under close observation, respectively. The remaining four students at Jengka Hospital are Nur Nabihah Musyidah Md Nasri, Nur Alia Farhana Abdul Fattah, Muhamad Adam Azfar Suzaini, and Muhammad Anas Shahrul Nizat. UiTM has ceased all Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge (KKEC) 2026 outdoor events scheduled for today and is fully cooperating with authorities to investigate the incident.

The university is also conducting a thorough review of safety protocols, health screening, risk management, and emergency response measures. UiTM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs) Prof Mohd Sazili Shahibi is monitoring the welfare of the affected students directly. UiTM Pahang branch Rector Prof Dr Azhan Hashim @ Ismail paid respects to the deceased student, Fadhlan Fakhry Solana Mohd Fellimal, who collapsed during the event on September 4 and later died at HOSHAS. He was laid to rest at Elmina Muslim Cemetery in Denai Alam.
