Seven UiTM students remain under treatment after heat‑related incident; outdoor endurance events called off

Shah Alam, September 6 - Seven Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) students are still receiving medical treatment and monitoring after a heat-related incident that occurred during an endurance event in Pahang on Friday. UiTM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin announced the university management's continued focus on the affected students' health, with Liya Zafirah Muhammad from Perak and Meor Aqil Wildan from Perlis being treated in intensive care at HOSHAS in Temerloh.

The remaining three students are in stable condition at Jengka Hospital. UiTM has canceled all endurance competitions that were planned for that day, including the Komander Kesatria Endurance Challenge (KKEC) 2026, and is cooperating fully with authorities in their investigation. The university is conducting a thorough review of safety measures and emergency response protocols.

UiTM's deputy vice-chancellor for student affairs, Prof Mohd Sazili Shahibi, has been assigned to oversee the welfare of the affected students.
